Help Children of Chiapas this Christmas! Here's how:

This posting has been made by one of our fantastic supporters, help Tracey raise funds for COC Foundation!

Dear Friends,

On Sunday, December 2, 2007, I will
be running the Tucson Marathon to benefit the Children of Chiapas
Foundation.

The Children of Chiapas (COC) Foundation is a grass roots, non-profit
organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities to the
indigenous children of Chiapas, a rural region in Southern Mexico. I
am especially excited about running to support COC because it a small
organization, where every dollar makes a difference. With the holidays
right around the corner, please consider making a year-end,
tax-deductible donation to COC in support of my run.

You can send the checks to me, made payable to the Children of Chiapas
Foundation. My office address is: Tracey Quach, 1145 Wilshire Blvd.,
2nd Floor Los Angeles, CA 90017. Alternatively, you can donate online via
paypal. To do so, click here

Latest News!

Hello Friends,

Thank you for all your support and for continuing to send your donations to help Ambrosiana. We spoke to her family yesterday and she's slowly recuperating, there are several medical tests she will have to undergo but she's strong and determined to get better and resume with her studies. Your donations are deeply appreciated.

On another note, the Foundation participated in the 13th Annual Marcha por Emiliano Zapata and the COC dancers Lupita, Valentina, Aranda & Maggie performed a beautiful dance from the region of Chiapas. The Foundation also featured a children's activity booth where the children had their faces painted and had the opportunity to do some art work.

We thank all of the volunteers and donors that made this event possible. In particular we thank our volunteers; Carolina, Sandy, Agustina, Jr., Aurora & Noemi. We hope to continue our work with the children in our local communities and hope that you would consider being a volunteer in our next function!

Ambrosiana needs your continued support!

Hello Friends,

Last week we informed you that one of the young girls in our Padrinos y Madrinas project had been hit by a car and was seriously injured. Ambrosiana is one of the young girls the foundation is actively supporting with her education and living expenses. Ambrosiana is 14 years old in her freshman year of high school and lives in San Cristobal de las Casas in Chiapas, Mexico.

Her story is one of struggle and hardship. Her family although loving and hard working is very poor and is unable to support her dreams of furthering her education. Ambrosiana is brave and proud of her indigenous roots and wants to become a lawyer. The Children of Chiapas foundation is committed to helping her make that day dream come true and we need your support.

As you can imagine due to her family's financial situation they do not have the money to cover her very urgent medical expenses.

The Women's Center (K'inal Antensik) where she currently resides in has asked us for help. We are now reaching out to you to help Ambrosiana. Help her get back on track with her health and studies. Ambrosiana's situation is of immediate need, please help us send her family the monies they need to see her through this very difficult situation.

Some of you responded and so far we have been able to raise $300.00. We are still looking to raise another $ 1,000 in order to assist Ambrosiana's family with her growing medical expenses. Ambrosiana is now in stable condition but has severe head trauma and additional tests have to be done. We thank you for your contributions and hoep that you will continue to support Ambrosiana and her family.

We have added a paypal button for donations on the blog or if you would like to make a tax deductible donation (tax id# 20-2602120) you can make your check payable to Children of Chiapas Foundation and mail it to: 8439 Drayer Lane, Rosemead, CA 91770.

If you like to see a picture of Ambrosiona please visit our blog at http://childrenofchiapasfoundation2.blogspot.com/ she's featured in the Padrinos y Madrinas page and she's the young girl with the tan top in the middle.

We thank you again for all your support and ask that you pass this along to your friends and family. It is our hope to continue to share with all of you Ambrosiana's progress.

Best Wishes,
